Position: UOP Career Development Program
Description:
Basic/Preferred Qualifications: BS in Chemical Engineering attained by summer of 2011.
·    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and permanent basis (does not include practical training), without sponsorship.
·    Ability and willingness to travel extensively and for long periods of time
·    Ability and willingness to travel to both domestic and international location
Description:
Your career at UOP will begin as an engineer in the Career Development Program (CDP) at UOP’s headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago).  Two initial career paths are available to CDP engineers and include Process Controls or Process Technology.  The CDP is a 24 month intensive training program where you will be prepared to transfer into Field Operating Services.  Depending on the career path you will gain experience in one or more of UOP’s key technologies through rotational assignments in Process Development, Process Controls Engineering, Design Engineering, Pilot Plant operation, Technology Services, or other challenging assignments. 

After the completion of the CDP training you will transfer into Field Operating Services where, for 3-5 years, you will travel full time to locations around the world supporting UOP customers in operating refining and petrochemicals facilities.  Engineers completing the CDP and Field Operating Services programs go on to a variety of UOP positions in Technology Service, Research and Development, Engineering, Sales, and project management.

Your career at UOP will begin as an engineer in the Technical Training Program (TTP) at UOP’s headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago).  The TTP is a 24 month intensive training program where you will be exposed to multiple UOP technologies and functional groups to prepare you for a permanent office based assignments.  Training assignments in the TTP can include Pilot Plant operation, Engineering Design, Technical Services, Process Design, Project Sales, Manufacturing, and other challenging assignments.  After the completion of the TTP you will choose from a variety of permanent positions related to your training assignments.

EWB UIUC will be holding the Great Lakes Workshop Conference here at the University of Illinois next Fall 2011. This event will be roughly in October or November depending on what date EWB USA chooses. In order to organize this conference, EWB will need a lot of committed and ambitious people like yourself! Following are some of the positions that I'm looking for people to take leadership roles in for organizing this conference:
1.     Webmaster:   Design Website; Update Website; Publicity
2.     Corporate Director:    Prepare Sponsorship Letter; Find corporate sponsors; work with EWB Corporate Chair; Advertise within CU community; Facebook page; Invite local professional chapters e.g. ASCE, USGBC Students

4.     Marketing - Internal:    Advertise within College of Engineering
