Associate
Project Manager
The
National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois
Urbana-Champaign has one or more Associate Project Manager position(s)
available in our Collaborative eScience Program Office (CSP). This entry-level to mid-level Associate
Project Manager provides assistance in managing and executing budgeting,
planning, communications, personnel resourcing, workflow, level tracking and
reporting for the CSP office. The CSP manages projects that accelerate the advancement of knowledge discovery across a broad range
of research domains by reducing barriers to the use of e-Infrastructure,
enabling diverse world-wide collaborations, and expanding access to a wide
range of resources and services. This position participates in
establishing goals and maintaining timelines, and ensuring that staff and
resources are directed efficiently toward achieving the goals of the office.
The Associate Project Manager will also serve as the lead for a set of
subprojects for the group. Daily activity involves interaction with project
management software tools and other business support systems, coordinating and
attending meetings, setting agendas, and coordinating and communicating action
items. The successful candidate for this position is highly organized,
self-starting, and has an interest and knowledge of science and computing.
Required Education and
Experience:
·
BA/BS
in business/accounting/finance, or computer science, or engineering or related
field required. Alternative degree
fields may be considered/accepted if accompanied by equivalent experience
(depending on nature and depth of experience as it relates to current NCSA technologies).

Demonstrated
writing experience via coursework or professional contributions.
Preferred
Experience:
·
One
year of experience in project management/program management
·
PMP
Certification or willing to go through the PMP certification process, funded by
NCSA.
·
IT/Computing
project management expertise or background
This is a
regular academic professional position at NCSA and is an annually renewable, 12/12,
100%-time appointment with regular University benefits. Salary is commensurate
with experience and start date will be as soon as possible after the close date
of the search. Interviews may be
